Cariveau Lab Native Pollinators Fund

Gifts to the Cariveau Lab Native Pollinators Fund supports the efforts of Dr. Dan Cariveau at the University of Minnesota's Department of Entomology to conduct research, education and outreach related to native pollinators. Examples of how your dollars are put to work:

  • Collaborating with farmers and conservation organizations to find cost-effective habitat for native bees
  • Training early-career scientists in native bee conservation and restoration ecology
  • Developing and delivering courses for majors and non-majors on conservation and pollination biology.
  • Maintaining one of the largest collections of native bees from endangered tallgrass prairies. This involves taxonomic expertise, specimen curation, and managing a large database of bees and the flowers they visit.
