Spivak Bee Innovation Fund

Gifts to the Spivak Lab Bee Innovation Fund sustain Dr. Marla Spivak's bee health work in the University of Minnesota's Department of Entomology. Donations will support the highest priorities of bee-related research, student mentoring, and education. Examples of how your dollars are put to work:

  • Honey bee research ranging from basic studies on molecular and behavioral mechanisms of social behaviors to applied studies on bee breeding and management
  • Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral research associates, and technicians
  • Classroom teaching to students, beekeepers and the public

Basil Furgala Student Support Fund (Honey Bees)

This student supporting fund was founded in honor of Dr. Basil Furgala, UMN Bee Lab Professor from 1967-1992.  Gifts to this fund are used to support students who are specializing in honey bees (apiculture).
