Bee Lab Tours, Events, and Talks

Can our group please tour the UMN Bee Lab?

The bee lab is not open to the public, as scientists are at work! At this time, we do not have resources to accommodate tour groups. The Tashjian Bee and Pollinator Discovery Center at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum was designed with input from the Bee Lab. It is a great place for adults and kids to learn about bees and other pollinators. Pollinate Minnesota also offers great classes and outreach options for kids.

How can I incorporate information on bees/ pollination/ bee gardens in my classroom?

If you are a classroom teacher, please explore the Driven to Discover Citizen Science: Pollinator curriculum for use in your classroom. This curriculum was developed with input from experts at the UMN Bee Lab.

Can I volunteer with the Bee Squad/ Bee Lab?

We have volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We will add you to our list, and let you know when volunteers are needed! Be aware that volunteers do not work directly with bees, but get to help bees in many other ways.

Community science volunteers can contribute important data about bees. Please see opportunities to volunteer to collect bee data.
